Police are seeking help in finding a vehicle that was carjacked at a North York mall and used as a getaway vehicle following a fatal shooting Monday night.

Police were called to the area of ​​Jane Street and Wilson Avenue for a shooting at 8:34 pm

Police said a man was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead on scene.

“A vehicle was carjacked by the involved suspect that fled through the parking lot of the Sheridan mall,” police said in a news release early Tuesday.

Police are searching for the vehicle, described as a 2022 black Toyota Corolla with Ontario license plate CVZW 153.

Toronto Police Duty Insp. Paul Krawczyk called the shooting brazen and targeted.

“This is a busy area, so I’m pleading with the public that anyone who may have dash cam footage or other footage and was in this area at about 8:30 pm that they provide it to police,” he told reporters on scene monday night

Police did not release a description of the suspect.
