South east London’s worst hygiene-rated restaurants

New inspection results for a number of restaurants, pubs, bars, nightclubs and food outlets in south east London have been listed on the Food Standards Agency’s website.

We’ve compiled a list of all the places with the lowest food hygiene ratings in Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark – only including those rated since 2020.

If you’re in the mood for a bite to eat in south east London, you might want to check this list to see where you should avoid.

Inspectors check how hygienically the food is handled, the condition of the building and how the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe.

What do the numbers mean?

Zero – Urgent improvement necessary. There is one outlet with this rating.

One – Major improvements necessary. There are 34 outlets with this rating.

Two – Improvements necessary. There are 26 outlets with this rating.

Three – Generally satisfactory. There are 126 outlets with this rating.

Four – Good on assessment. There are 461 outlets with this rating.

Five – Seen as very good. There are 2,036 outlets with this rating.

All of the following establishments received a rating of 0 which the agency says means urgent improvement is necessary.

However, ratings only apply to the time of the last inspection so it may not represent current conditions at the business.
