Este lot in East York used to be a dilapidated garage. Now, it’s being turned into a luxury home that can house a family.
Sitting at 951b Greenwood Ave., the derelict, single-door garage caused a stir when it hit the market for $600,000 in 2019 and eventually sold for $700,000 in 2021.
Now, the lot is being turned into a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home fit with an electric vehicle charger, a home bar and wine storage unit.
Marco Chiappetta, the home’s real estate agent, said the home is built to maximize the area, with about 2,500 square feet of space including a basement.
“I haven’t seen something that, as this, has taken full advantage of the lot that it’s on,” Chiappetta said.
“It’s an incredibly unique concept. There’s very little like it throughout the GTA,” he said.
How much will this brand new luxury home cost? It’s listed for $2.25 million.
With eight-foot-tall windows peeking from wood paneled sides and a flat roof, Chiappetta said the house’s modern architecture reminded him of homes in warmer climes.
“It’s heavily influenced off the modern homes in Southern California and the Côte d’Azur in southern France and the Costa del Sol in Spain,” Chiappetta said.
Inside the home, white oak hardwood floors will contrast dark marble slabs paneling the walls. A steel and white oak staircase will feature glass railings leading up to the second floor.
The kitchen will feature a long island marble, custom cabinetry and wood-paneled appliances. The bathrooms will feature heated floors and white marble walls.
Construction on the luxury home is set to be finished in late summer.
