LEBANON — Lebanon fire chief Chris Christopoulos earned West Central Behavioral Health’s Lilla McLane-Bradley Award for Mental Health Advocacy.
Christopoulos, who also serves as Lebanon’s emergency management director, works with Upper Valley and state officials, along with community members, to expand services for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis or substance use disorder, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization that has offices in Lebanon, Claremont and Newport.
“Chief Christopoulos shares those values that motivate West Central staff members to treat clients with compassion and expert care,” according to the release. He regularly participates in PaddlePower, a suicide awareness event that raises money for West Central. “His ongoing efforts by him to ensure community members are safe and cared for in times of crisis make Chief Christopoulos a role model for others who serve our communities as volunteers and professionals.”
